Follow-Up Department

PWA Follow Up Department came into existence in 2003. Although previously working as a sub department of Drug Bank, it is now working hand in hand with the Drug Bank, the Blood Bank and the Diagnostic Laboratory to provide long term treatment to its registered patients, completey Free of Cost.

The Follow Up Department comprises of:

1. GENERAL FOLLOW-UP:

General Follow-up provides free of cost long term drug therapy to its patients suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, epilepsy, SLE, CLD etc.

2. TUBERCULOSIS FOLLOW-UP:

Since established in June 1984, this clinic has served over 3000 Tuberculosis patients free of cost. At present, the department is providing regular consultations by a qualified T.B Specialist , anti-tuberculosis therapy, diagnostic x-rays and other necessary medications to 150 registered patients of Tuberculosis.

Work is in progress for starting the facilities of sputum smear examination and other required tests for diagnosis of diseases..

3. THALASSAEMIA FOLLOW-UP:

PWA Thalassemia follow-up aids children suffering from Thalassemia. It has 110 registered patients to whom it provides fully screened blood and necessary medications free of cost.

Moving a step further, PWA has recently undertaken the task of establishing its Thalassemia Day Care Center. The center will provide not only blood transfusions and essential drugs, but also consultation and individual care by expert doctors. Moreover, it will also provides the facility of regular diagnostic tests  including Ferritin, LFT, CBC and  Antibody screening test which are necessary for the proper management of thalassemic patients.
