Sponsor A Thalassemic Campaign

It’s not their laughter that we just saw, but what we saw and what itches us is the fact that despite the pain of everyday’s syringes, the replacement of candies they should be taking at their age with drugs so unpalatable and despite the repeated blood transfusions- the innocent smile and the laugh that they radiate cannot last for as long as a normal child’s does. It is not really that difficult for a person to feel that the mornings of a Thalassemic are uncertain. Yet when PWA feels, it serves. And with the feeling to serve, PWA starts ‘Sponsor a Thalassemic Campaign’.

A Thalassemic requires blood transfusions, expensive medicines, diagnostic tests and regular check ups for survival. Patients’ Welfare Association has been providing all these necessities to around 110 registered patients entirely free of cost. Besides this, PWA also provides free blood to another 500 Thalassemic patients of Civil Hospital Karachi. Since the cost of this treatment proves to be far too expensive for most patients to afford with the budget exceeding one lakh rupees, this campaign was the need of time.

PWA Sponsor A Thalassemic Campaign reaches out to all those who could help sponsor the treatment of Thalassemic children. For the ease of donors, the entire cost of treatment has been divided into separate heads of medicine, blood and diagnostic tests expenses. To further facilitate our donors and well wishers, the amount can also be paid either annually, quarterly or in monthly installments.

“Charity begins at home, but should not end there”, with the same thought we have started the campaign from where we started sufficing- that is in the vicinity of Dow Medical College.

Your support is crucial for this campaign achieve its purpose. We are spreading the word and soon the assertion, “Yes, I will sponsor a Thalassemic and yes, I’ll help in saving lives” is going to emanate the whole city as it is the unveiling twinkle in their eyes that we want to persist for at least a bit longer than they expect.
